The Director General of Nigeria maritime and safety agency (NIMASA) Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi was on Thursday relived of his duty by president Muhamadu Buhari.
The announcement was made by special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adeshina in a statement made available to journalist
Adesina, however, did not give reason for the decision which he said took immediate effect.
Patrick Ziakede will now hand over all government property in his possession to the most senior officer in the agency who will remain in charge until a new Director-General is appointed.
