The golf event which is the 44th edition of the tournament between Europe and The United States of America, has been
hosted outside in only five occasion.
Italy beat Germany, Austria, and Spain to the hosting right.
The Marco Simone course, 17km from the centre of the Italian capital, will be reconstructed to meet the standards for the tournament.
